Turnovers
Turnovers are believed to have originated in medieval times and were often filled with meat or fruit.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into squares.

Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each square.

Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle and seal the edges.

Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush the turnovers with beaten egg.

Sprinkle sugar on top.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water and heat until the sugar dissolves.

Brush the glaze over the warm turnovers.
