Tomatoes are technically a fruit, but they are commonly used as a vegetable in cooking.

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.

In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped basil leaves, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

Place a layer of sliced tomatoes in a baking dish.

Top with a layer of sliced mozzarella cheese.

Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the cheese.

Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of breadcrumbs.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the topping is golden brown.
