  2. Toast the almonds in a dry pan over medium heat until lightly golden, then chop them coarsely.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the chopped almonds.
