  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, unsalted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir until the dough comes together.
  4. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts. Roll out each part on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch (3 mm).
  5. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out heart shapes from the rolled-out dough.
  6. Place half of the heart shapes onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Spoon a small amount of jam onto the center of each heart shape on the baking sheet.
  8. Place the remaining heart shapes on top of the jam-filled hearts. Press the edges gently to seal.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the tarts are golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
  11. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the cooled tarts. Serve and enjoy!
