The first brownie recipe appeared in a cookbook in 1896, and it was called ‘Bangor Brownies’.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 70 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 9.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a square baking pan.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate together in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.

In a separate large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar and egg mixture, and stir until fully incorporated.

Sift in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.

Fold in the walnuts.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for 30 minutes.

Once cooled, remove the brownies from the pan and cut into squares.
