  2. Slice the French bread diagonally into 1-inch thick slices.
  3. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, mixed herbs, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Spread the garlic herb butter mixture on one side of each bread slice.
  5. Place the bread slices on the grill or in the oven, buttered side up.
  6. Grill or bake for about 5 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and crispy.
  7. Remove from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Drizzle BBQ sauce over the bread slices.
