  2. Heat milk and butter in a small saucepan until butter melts. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Add the milk mixture and egg to the flour mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a bun.
  7. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let them rise for 30 minutes.
