  1. Grate the Gruyère and Emmental cheese.
  2. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with garlic.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with the lemon juice and kirsch to make a smooth paste.
  4. Pour the beer into the fondue pot and heat over medium heat.
  5. Gradually add the grated cheese to the pot, stirring constantly until melted.
  6. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and continue stirring until the fondue is smooth and thickened.
  7. Season with freshly ground black pepper.
  8. Cut the crusty bread into bite-sized cubes.
  9. Serve the Swiss Beer Fondue with the bread cubes.
