Sweet Starfish Shortbread Cookies

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the vanilla extract and salt, and mix well.

Gradually add the flour to the mixture and mix until it forms a dough.

Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.

Use a starfish-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies from the dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cookies are completely cooled, dust them with powdered sugar.
