Sweet potatoes are not actually potatoes, but rather root vegetables that belong to the morning glory family.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel and cube the sweet potatoes.

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the sweet potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes.

Drain the sweet potatoes and transfer them to a baking dish.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until crumbly.

Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the sweet potatoes.

Top with chopped pecans.
