  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch (23 cm) springform pan to form the crust.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the orange zest and orange juice.
  6. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan.
  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until the center is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  9. Run a knife around the edges of the pan to loosen the cheesecake.
  10. Remove the sides of the springform pan and let the cheesecake cool completely.
  11. Spread the cranberry sauce over the top of the cheesecake.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  13. Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and fresh cranberries.
