Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into small cubes.

In a pot of boiling water, cook the sweet potatoes until tender.

Drain the cooked sweet potatoes and transfer them to a large mixing bowl.

Mash the sweet potatoes with a potato masher or fork until smooth.

Add the brown sugar, butter, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon to the mashed sweet potatoes. Mix well.

Transfer the sweet potato mixture to a greased baking dish.

Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Remove the casserole from the oven and top with mini marshmallows.

Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown.
