Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel and thinly slice the sweet potatoes.

Core and thinly slice the apples.

In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.

In a baking dish, layer the sweet potatoes, apples, and sugar mixture.

Dot the top with butter and sprinkle with pecans.

Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the topping is golden.

Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
