Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until the dough comes together.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times.

Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch (3 cm) thickness.

Sprinkle the ground cinnamon evenly over the dough.

Roll the dough into a log and slice it into 12 equal pieces.
