Suzanne’s Caramel Oatmeal Bars
Oatmeal bars are a popular treat in many cultures and can be enjoyed as a snack or dessert.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and pour caramel sauce over the crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the caramel layer. Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the top.

Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool completely before cutting into bars.
