  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until the butter melts. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the caramel filling by combining the corn syrup, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens.
  6. Preheat a stroopwafel iron or a waffle iron.
  7. Take a small portion of the dough and roll it into a ball. Place the dough ball onto the hot iron and press it down. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove the waffle from the iron and cut it in half horizontally. Spread a layer of caramel filling on one half and place the other half on top.
  9. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling. Allow the stroopwafels to cool completely before serving.
