Spider Pretzels
Pretzels have been around for over 1,400 years and were originally created by monks as a reward for children who learned their prayers.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 45 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 10.

In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Gradually add warm water and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add baking soda and stir until dissolved.

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope and shape it into a pretzel.

Carefully drop each pretzel into the boiling water for about 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon and place on a greased baking sheet.

Brush each pretzel with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse salt and black sesame seeds.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
