In a medium bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.

In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.

Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer the cakes to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and heavy cream until smooth and creamy.

Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of cream cheese frosting on top. Repeat with the remaining cake layers and frosting.
