Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease a small baking dish with butter.

In a medium bowl, combine milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk until well combined.

Tear the bread slices into small pieces and place them in the prepared baking dish.

Pour the milk mixture over the bread, making sure all the bread is soaked.

Sprinkle raisins over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the bread pudding is set and golden brown.

While the bread pudding is baking, prepare the whiskey sauce. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the whiskey and powdered sugar until smooth.

Remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
