Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, then stir in the molasses.
