Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a loaf tin.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Fold in the flour and dried fruit, then gradually add the milk to form a soft batter.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf tin and smooth the top.

Bake for 45 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let it rest in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
