Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage head and place it in the boiling water. Cook for 5 minutes to soften the leaves.
  3. Remove the cabbage from the pot and let it cool. Once cooled, carefully peel off the leaves, being careful not to tear them.
  4. In a separate pot, cook the rice according to package instructions.
  5. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, carrot, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
  6. Add the cooked rice, tomato sauce, vegetable stock, salt, black pepper, and paprika to the skillet. Stir until well combined.
  7. Take a cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the rice mixture in the center. Roll the leaf tightly, tucking in the sides as you go. Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling.
  8. Place the stuffed cabbage rolls in a baking dish. Pour any remaining sauce over the top.
  9. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the rolls are heated through.
  11. Let the stuffed cabbage rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  12. Serve the stuffed cabbage rolls with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of dill.
