Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a saucepan, combine the fruit filling, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.

Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut into squares.

Place a spoonful of the fruit filling in the center of each square.

Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle and press the edges to seal.

Brush the turnovers with beaten egg.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Optional: Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the turnovers for a few seconds on each side for added crispiness.

Remove from the oven/frying pan and let them rest for 10 minutes.

Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!
