In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and icing sugar until light and fluffy.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.

Once the dough comes together, transfer it to a lightly floured surface and knead it until smooth.

Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch (3 cm) and cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters.

Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
