  2. Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly.

  6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the cheese until melted.

  9. Pour half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes.
  10. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cheese sauce.
  11. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  12. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
  13. Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving.
