Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking dish.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing well.

Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the batter, then sprinkle with sea salt. Top with the remaining batter.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the chewies to cool in the baking dish for 30 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
