  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar, and mix until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the cashews.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter. Sprinkle with half of the sea salt flakes.
  7. Pour the remaining batter over the caramel layer. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on top. Sprinkle with the remaining sea salt flakes.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 30 minutes.
  10. Cut into squares and serve.
