Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and brown sugar together in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds, until smooth.

Stir in the salt and vanilla extract.

Pour the caramel mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it out evenly.

Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set the caramel.

In the meantime, melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds, until smooth.

Remove the baking sheet from the refrigerator and pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer, spreading it out evenly.

Sprinkle sea salt flakes on top of the chocolate layer.

Return the baking sheet to the refrigerator for another 30 minutes to set the chocolate.

Once fully set, break the bark into pieces and serve.
