Ingredients
Instructions
-
Steep the black tea bags in boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool.
-
In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the cooled tea. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
-
Add the flour, salt, and softened butter to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.
-
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
-
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
-
Meanwhile, peel and dice the apples. In a small bowl, mix the diced apples with cinnamon and brown sugar.
-
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Flatten each portion and place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
-
Place the filled rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover with a kitchen towel, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a small bowl, beat the egg with milk and brush the rolls with the egg wash.
-
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool on a wire rack.
-
Serve warm and enjoy!
