Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the rhubarb, brown sugar, butter, and ground cinnamon. Cook over medium heat until the rhubarb is tender and the mixture has thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Pour the rhubarb mixture into the prepared baking dish. Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the top, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm buns.
  7. Let the buns cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
