Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined. Fold in the chopped chestnuts.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
