Boil the potatoes until tender. Peel and mash the potatoes. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, egg, and salt. Mix well until a dough forms. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into dumplings. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the dumplings until they float to the surface. Remove the dumplings from the water and roll them in bread crumbs. In a pan, melt the butter and fry the dumplings until golden brown. Serve hot with sour cream.
