Add the porcini mushrooms and cook for another 3 minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry.

Gradually add the Gruyère and Emmental cheese to the fondue pot, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.

Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another 2 minutes until the cheese thickens.

Stir in the Kirsch and season with freshly ground black pepper.
