  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll out each part into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  6. Spread the jam evenly over one rectangle. Place the other rectangle on top and press down gently.
  7. Cut the dough into small rectangles or desired shapes.
  8. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack.
  11. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies.
