  1. In a saucepan, cook the plums until soft. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. In a large bowl, combine bread crumbs, sugar, butter, eggs, milk, dried fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Mix well.
  3. Add the cooked plums and brandy to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Grease a pudding basin and pour the mixture into it. Cover with a lid or foil.
  5. Place the pudding basin in a large pot with boiling water, making sure the water reaches halfway up the sides of the basin.
  6. Cover the pot and steam the pudding for 2 hours.
  7. Remove the pudding from the pot and let it rest for 1 hour.
  8. Unmold the pudding onto a serving plate and serve warm.
