Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

Press half of the dough into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the chopped pistachios and cherries evenly over the dough. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the top.

Crumble the remaining dough over the filling, pressing lightly.

Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into bars.
