  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a food processor, grind the pistachios until finely chopped.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pistachios, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Once cooled, spread whipped cream over the top of the cake and sprinkle with chopped pistachios.
