Piernik is a traditional Polish spiced honey bread that is often enjoyed during the Christmas season.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs. Add the honey, brown sugar, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
