  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  6. Pour half of the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
  7. Spread the pie filling evenly over the batter.
  8. Pour the remaining batter over the pie filling.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
