Peel and chop the persimmons.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the milk and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chopped persimmons and golden raisins.

Grease a pudding basin and pour the batter into it.

Cover the basin with a lid or foil, and place it in a steamer.

Steam the pudding for 1 hour, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the pudding from the steamer and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Carefully invert the pudding onto a serving plate.
