Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a mixing bowl, cream together the peanut butter, butter, and brown sugar until smooth.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, bran flakes, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the peanut butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a greased baking sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
