Tarte Tatin is a classic French dessert that was accidentally created by the Tatin sisters in the 19th century when they mistakenly cooked the apples upside down.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Peel and slice the peaches.

In a 20cm (8-inch) oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the melted butter.

Arrange the peach slices in a single layer on top of the sugar.

Cook the peaches for about 5 minutes, until they start to release their juices.

Remove the skillet from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Place the puff pastry sheet over the peaches, tucking the edges inside the skillet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Carefully invert the skillet onto a serving plate to release the tarte tatin.
