Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, mix together oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.

Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto greased baking sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
