Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing well.

Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
