In a large bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.

Add the eggs and vegetable oil to the yeast mixture. Mix well.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 3 equal portions. Roll each portion into a long rope.

Braid the ropes together and place the braided loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cover the loaf with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Brush the loaf with beaten egg for a shiny finish.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the challah is golden brown.
