Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
