  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the bread into small cubes and spread them on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 10 minutes or until crisp.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and celery and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the toasted bread cubes, cooked onion and celery mixture, broth, egg, parsley, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let the stuffing rest for 10 minutes before serving.
