  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and lemon zest.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, alternating with the heavy cream, until just combined.
  6. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Gradually add the melted butter to the batter, stirring until smooth.
  7. Spoon the batter into the prepared madeleine molds, filling each about 3/4 full.
