  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mixed berries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir gently until the berries are coated.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Cut the unsalted butter into small pieces and add it to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until the dough comes together.
  6. Divide the berry mixture evenly among 6 ramekins or oven-safe dishes.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the dough on top of the berries, covering them as much as possible.
