Martha’s Soft-Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies
The first chocolate chip cookie was invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938 when she added chopped chocolate to her cookie dough, expecting it to melt and create chocolate cookies. Instead, the chocolate bits retained their shape, giving birth to the iconic chocolate chip cookie.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
